Overview

The City of Seal Beach proposes to improve the structural integrity of the Seal Beach Municipal Pier, as well as upgrade existing utility lines. This project will upgrade aged and damaged utility lines and restore the structural stability of the Pier. These pier repairs will rehabilitate damaged structural members and improve the pier’s overall existing utility system. The project supports the overall enhancement, establishment, and preservation of public access ways.

By September 2018, the City is expecting to commence construction on the improvements to the Seal Beach Municipal Pier over an anticipated 9-month construction process with substantial completion of the project expected by May 2019.

At this time, there has been no official determination made regarding if a tenant or restaurant will occupy the space at the end of the Seal Beach Pier. All the improvements to the utility lines and structural support systems that are being done, as a part of this Improvement Project, will allow for the infrastructure to be in place should a future determination be made regarding a tenant or restaurant.
